“Mommy, can I chainsaw Reilly carefully?”  Is he kidding? No!  We don’t chainsaw our brother or any other people – even if it is only a toy!

Family Moments

At speech today Thomas got 5 silly bandz for doing such a good job, and at lunch bunch he shared his silly bandz with his friends.  He came home with only 1 but he was happy to tell me about his sharing and he was even happier to tell me that the one he kept was a moon and it glowed in the dark.  Later at dinner he told Brian about it too and insisted that we all go into the bathroom and close the door to see it glow.  So, after dinner we all went upstairs and crowded into the small bathroom and closed the door.  It was magical for Thomas!!!  This little silly band glowing a faint blue on the floor of the bathroom with all 5 of us standing around to see.  Thomas was so excited and Conner (being a Conner) danced his way out of the bathroom saying in a sing-song voice, “Out of darkness and into lightness!”  It was another one of those special family moments : )

Sweet Sounds

I was getting ready to go to bed last night and had to do one last check on the baby before resting for the night.  He had rolled out of his sleep positioner, which made me nervous because he’s not proficient at rolling from his belly to his back when awake, let alone when he’s asleep.  So I had to pick him up and put him back in the positioner.  As I crawled into bed he started making noises and all I could think was, “great I woke him up and now I’m going to be up for a while – darn it”  But no I had not woken him up.  He was giggling and laughing in his sleep.  What a precious little noise!  Previously I’d only heard him cry in his sleep so hearing this unconscious laughter was magical : )  Love that little boy!!!

Bliss

This morning was blissful in more ways than one.  It was slower than most and thus much more laid back.  I wasn’t running like an idiot, instead I just cruised through the morning routine.  Yes, we were running late as usual but I didn’t feel that need to go, go, go.  I got the kids up and had already fixed them breakfast downstairs and packed their lunches for lunch bunch.  They went down to eat and I basked in the hot water of my shower for way longer than I should have.  Oh, well!   When I got downstairs the radio was on (which was strange because I didn’t turn it on) and my biggest guy was dancing in the kitchen with his teddy bear!  So the baby and I joined him in a little couples dancing (me and my littlest man, Reilly and Thomas and his teddy).  It was sweet time together : )  The kids got to school a little late, but memories like this make it all worth it!!!!

Things I thought I’d Never Say

Do not hide dirty diapers in your room!!!

Do not pull on the baby’s feet!

How does the pee get behind the potty?

Connerism # 21

“Daddy, what is these green things I’ve been eating?” (Peas) About a minute later Conner says, “Daddy these things taste just like peas!!!”  (Conner why do you think they taste like peas?)  “Because they’s are peas.”  I just stared at the computer like I didn’t just hear that back-and-forth, and tried really hard NOT to laugh out loud (hahahahaha).  So, I decided to write about it instead.

Philosophies of T. Jimmy

Thomas finished his dinner before everyone else and wanted to watch more t.v.  I said no because he needed to eat something else.  So, Thomas takes the opportunity to give me a dissertation of all the things he’s eaten today and that’s why he doesn’t need to eat anything else.  Then he saw the cantaloupe that I was dishing and said, “Mommy could you give me a LOT!!! I love cantaloupe!”  Well, I guess all the food he’d previously been telling me about magically digested instantaneously because he suddenly had enough room for a big bowl of cantaloupe.  Gotta love kids : )
